Meals

Find a day-by-day schedule of free meals provided by organizations in Kitsap, available on the Bremerton Salvation Army website.

Our schools also provide breakfast and lunch for students. You can apply for free- or reduced-price breakfast and lunch any time during the school year.

Provides free children’s clothing size infant to teen to support foster, adoptive and low income families.

Standup for Kids Kitsap

Provides clothes, blankets, hot meals, and hygiene items when available for homeless youth.

Housing Assistance

Kitsap County Housing Solutions Center helps families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They work with 20 local agencies to place families at shelters and provide rental assistance.

Shelter

Salvation Army

Offers emergency shelter 7 nights a week 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., as well as laundry, clothing and other homeless support.

Severe Weather Shelter

For open status, call 2-1-1. Open when temperatures are expected to be  32 degrees or colder for four or more hours, if an inch of snow is expected or if an inch of rain is expected between noon and 6 a.m. the next day. Locations include Silverdale United Methodist Church.

The YMCA offers programs for youth both during and after the school year

West Sound Free Clinic, provides free medical care to uninsured and under-insured. Located at the Salvation Army in Bremerton.

This program provides counseling and rehabilitation services for drug or alcohol abusers.

Outpatient Crisis Intervention Program

the Outpatient Crisis Intervention Program, Naval Hospital Mental Heath Dept. provides classes and counseling for persons experiencing crisis which are affecting their personal or professional lives.

Child counseling services

Navy Region Northwest Child Counseling Services, Fleet and Family Support Center at Keyport or Bangor provides counseling by state licensed clinicians for military children in an individual, family,or group settings. Counselors specifically address:

  • Discipline issues
  • School behavior problems
  • Anger management
  • Social withdrawal
  • Witness to domestic violence
  • Child abuse or neglect
  • Grief and loss

Counselors and therapists are also available to consult with parents and school staff.

Navy Sexual Assault Victim Intervention Program

Volunteer victim advocates are on call 24/7 and have been trained to assist victims of sexual trauma.
