A Note from Dr. Erin Prince

We welcomed hundreds of adorable first graders and Jump Start K students to a fabulous and engaging show at the Performing Arts Center last week. That facility (bond funded) and the field trip itself (levy funded) are both examples of ways our community supports our schools, and I’m so grateful for that. These events are a feat of coordination, but it’s worth it when you see those sweet, smiling faces!

This is always a busy and exciting time as we wrap up the school year and celebrate student growth and accomplishments. I hope you and your family enjoy the upcoming three-day weekend. Wishing you a safe and restful break!

Attendance builds your future!

It's almost time to celebrate our students' hard work and break out those caps and gowns! Graduation is proof of the importance of attendance. Even as children grow older and become more independent, families continue to play a vital role in helping them show up every day—ready to learn and succeed. Good attendance builds habits that matter in college, careers, and beyond. It sets students up for success not just in the classroom, but in life!

Last Day of School Reminder

Our school board approved a revised calendar that allows us to end the school year earlier than originally expected. The last day of school will be Wednesday, June 18, and it will be a half-day release.

As always, you can find the most current version of our district calendar on our website.

Washington SUN Bucks Summer EBT Program

SUN Bucks are back! SUN Bucks is a summer EBT card with $120 for each qualifying child that can be spent at grocery stores for food & beverage items!

Children eligible for SUN Bucks include those who meet the requirements to receive free or reduced-price meals. If you haven’t submitted a Free or Reduced application for this year yet, you can still apply online today! Apply by June 13 as long as your child is still enrolled at a Central Kitsap School. We have already emailed families who qualify or may qualify with further instructions.

2025 Spring Climate Survey Results

When we ask students, families, and staff to take part in our annual climate surveys, it’s not to check a box. These surveys help us understand what students, families, and staff are actually experiencing, not just what we see in numbers like test scores or attendance. Curious about this year’s results? We’ve published a report—take a look!
