WST Transportation, Attendance, and the First Week of School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we prepare for the first week of school, there is important information regarding West Sound Tech (WST) attendance, transportation, and the Olympic High School Soft Start schedule for August 31st–September 2nd. 

WST Attendance & Transportation

*Attendance at WST for ALL WST students is not required, but encouraged August 31st- September 2nd. 

AM WST Students:
Students enrolled in WST will have bus transportation to and from WST for the AM sessions on Monday, August 31st; Tuesday, September 1st; and Wednesday, September 2nd (along with September 3rd & 4th). Bus will leave OHS at 7:40am and return before Oly's 11am dismissal. 

However, AM WST students will NOT be penalized for NOT attending WST during these three days. Because Olympic High School will be following a special schedule during the first three days, students may prioritize attending their Olympic classes.

PM WST Students:
Transportation WILL NOT be provided for PM WST students August 31st-September 2nd, however PM students have the option to attend WST on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday using their own transportation.  Attendance at WST is NOT required during these first three days.

Olympic High School Schedule

Monday, August 31st — Periods 1–6
Olympic High School will run a shortened six-period day. WST students who attend Olympic and do not have a scheduled class during a particular period are required to come to the Career Center if they are on campus. Students are not required to be on campus if they do not have a class. 
Tuesday, September 1st — Periods 1–3
Olympic will run Periods 1–3 only.  AM WST students may still come to Oly to catch the bus to and from WST. If you choose not to attend WST you will have no regularly scheduled classes at Oly and you should not be on campus. PM WST students are required to attend their 1-3 periods at Olympic High School.
Wednesday, September 2nd — Periods 4–6
Olympic will run Periods 4–6 only. AM WST students are encouraged to attend periods 4-6th at Olympic High School  and miss WST Wednesday morning. Again, AM WST students will not be penalized for missing WST during these first three days. If you choose to miss classes at Olympic High School your parent/ guardian must call and excuse your absence. 

PM WST will not have regularly scheduled classes at Oly and should not be on campus. 

Regular WST schedules and transportation will begin on Thursday, September 3. Remember that Thursdays are early release days at Oly. Please see attached Soft Start Schedule.
