UPDATE: Phase 3 Spectator Guidelines

Good news! Spectator guidelines for outdoor and indoor athletic events have changed with the beginning of Kitsap County’s Phase 3 re-opening. Schools are now able to hold contests with spectators beginning Thursday, March 18, under the following conditions:

  • All spectators must wear masks at the events and maintain six feet social distancing from other spectators or groups of same-household spectators.
  • With the current capacity of our outdoor venues, we can accommodate up to 400 spectators (in addition to participants) in our stadiums.
  • Smaller outdoor venues such as softball fields, baseball fields, and tennis courts will have smaller limits on the number of spectators allowed in seating areas.
  • No admission will be charged at our events.
  • Access will be on a first come, first served basis.
  • Fans exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms should not attend our events.
  • CKSD will post updated information about indoor events in Season 3 after April 15th.

For all Season 1 and Season 2 athletes and families, please watch for an email from your high school’s athletic director (via FinalForms) for more details.

High School Season 2 Update: March 15 - May 1, 2021

We are excited that our high school sports programs have been back in action as of Feb. 1! Now it’s time to get ready for Season 2. All participants will continue to follow guidelines from the state Department of Health and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). Those guidelines include wearing face masks at all times during practices and competitions. More information can be found under the state's sporting activity guidance updated on February 9, 2021.

Season 2 sports include baseball, fastpitch, golf, boys soccer, girls tennis, and track & field.

We have brought live streaming of events to many competitions this spring, and plan to continue to offer this free of charge to families who sign up. Learn how to sign up on the NFHS to see CKSD home athletic competitions:

Please note that not all schools in our league have the ability to live stream our away events.

High School Season 2 Eligibility Update

Our athletes must meet high standards of sportsmanship. They must also meet academic and other requirements. Our standards for eligibility are outlined in our athletic code. We require you to read this and other information and electronically sign an acknowledgment when registering for sports.

Students in Central Kitsap Virtual Academy, Running Start or at Barker Creek Community School are also eligible for participation. Please register with your attendance-area school or the school with which you previously competed. For a complete text of this rule and other eligibility rules, please check out the WIAA eligibility website, or contact your school’s athletic director for more information.

We use a service called Final Forms for easy, online registration. Families will be asked to create an account, with options to register more than one student. We ask for:

  • Confirmation that you’ve read our eligibility requirements
  • Basic medical history and health information
  • Insurance company and policy number
  • Doctor, dentist, and medical specialist contact information
